Life Has Resistence
Todays run was a struggle. Not because I necessarily felt bad, although my left knee was giving me some trouble, but because the winds were intense. I squeezed my run in between rain storms, so it was blowing hard. My normal pace (not that it is record-breaking fast) was slowed down, and the run harder.
This got me thinking, once again, about life. No matter how good your life, you will encounter resistance along the way. Personally, I think it is a good thing. Oh, it doesn't always feel that way in the midst of it, but resistance makes us stronger...better. Without some, we may coast through and not fully developed into our potential. I don't know about you, but I want to be my best. So when life hits you with some resistance, do what I did on my run: put your head down, buckled down and press on!

That which doesn't kill us makes us stronger, but God's strength is perfected in our weakness. Key is to rely more on His strength against resistance than ours.
Your comment about resistance-difficulty in a run or in life makes us better- reminds me of a quote:
Paraphrasing now:
Adversity does not develop character- it reveals it.
Lorraine,
Your words are very encouraging. With the extreme cold we've experienced in Tennessee, running has been very hard. Getting out of bed in the morning has been hard, too! Thanks for reminding me to "buckle down." Great blog!
I admire your ability to keep going even through the storm--you and the postman.
Loved Your Comments Lorraine, you're right, Mother Teresa once commented that she knows God never gave her more than she could handle, she just wished he didn't have such faith in her.

The young tree strengthens as the adverse winds blow across it. We can learn from that sapling
